West Point routs Jackets

Corner falied to put a sting into the West Point Warriors from Cullman County Friday night.
The Yellow Jackets lost at home 36-13.
Corner’s first scoring play came in the first quarter when freshman Jake Collier ran it in from 8 yards.
The Warriors struck back in the second quarter with two scoring drives to lead the Yellow Jackets 16-6 at the half.
West Point would score again in the third quarter while shutting down the Corner offense.
The Jackets’ last scoring play would come in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard touchdown from senior David Cuda and a successful point-after.
However, West Point would also score twice in the fourth quarter before the game’s end.
In all, Corner had 120 rushing an 64 passing yards on the night with a total of 10 first downs.
Corner had no fumbles, but had four turnovers in the form of interceptions.
Offensively, the Jackets were led by Cuda, who picked up 45 yards on six carries. Collier and Jared Humphries picked up a combined 55 yards on six carries.
Jordan Shipp led the defense with one intercepted pass on the night.
Next week, Corner travels to Dora for another region game.
