Mortimer Jordan goes 2-2 in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY—Mortimer Jordan brought its 2019 softball season to a close on Friday with a 3-0 loss to No. 4 Rehobeth on Day 2 of the Class 5A State Softball Tournament in Montgomery.

The fifth-ranked Blue Devils finish with an overall mark of 38-16, including a 2-2 record in Lagoon Park this week. Jordan, in its second straight state tournament appearance, dropped two games to Rehobeth and mixed in back-to-back victories over Sardis and No. 6 Ardmore.

The Blue Devils placed second in Class 5A, Area 11 behind top-ranked state champion Hayden and later bagged a West-Central Regional Tournament championship in Tuscaloosa.
