West Blount Fire to campaign door to door this Saturday for special election
The West Blount Volunteer Fire and Rescue will begin its door-to-door campaign on Saturday in the proposed West Blount Fire District. All personnel will be wearing picture ID with an approved name badge.
They are prepared to answer questions about the upcoming special election for the fire district on Nov. 4.
They will also be signing up residents for family portraits for a fundraiser.
West Blount is seeking to have an official fire district established, in which residents would pay annual dues for fire protection and medical response service. Currently, the department is funded by voluntary dues payments, which have proved to be insufficient to fund the service.
