Gardendale City Council sees plans for Civils House renovations
Gardendale City Council members took a look at plans for a house that the city is converting into an event space geared toward weddings.
Richard Bradley showed the blueprints for the remodeled Civils House, which is located between the Civic Center and the new City Hall.
Builders will remove most walls in the ground floor of the house, which will open the space for weddings. One room will be converted into a dressing room for the groom’s party, while the upstairs will be converted into dressing rooms and lounges for the bridal party.
The house’s main stairway will be retained, and in most weddings will be used for the bride and her party to make their entrance.
An outdoor deck will also be built on one end of the house.
The plans were presented at the council’s special meeting Monday night.
