(Photo gallery) Streets fill for Christmas parade
Tons of holiday-spirited shoppers, many from out of town, streamed into the Festhalle and Warehouse District Saturday for Christmas in Cullman and the event’s first-ever open-air traditional German Christmas market, or Christkindlmarkt.
The event, originally slated for Friday night along with the city’s Christmas parade, moved to Saturday to avoid a rain-out. Through Saturday afternoon, grey skies loomed, but the drizzle held off as crowds lined up along First Avenue, from the Busy Bee Cafe — where the parade began — all the way to the Festhalle and beyond.
