Firefighters respond to electrical fire at General Dynamics, no one hurt
Firefighters and emergency personnel from a handful of agencies responded to what turned out to be a small electrical fire inside a storage building at General Dynamics Monday afternoon.
The fire call came in around 4 p.m., with reports that all employees had been evacuated from the company on Alabama 157. Cullman Fire Chief Ed Reinhardt said firefighters were able to quickly knock down the small fire inside the building where acids and other chemicals were being stored.
Vinemont-Providence and Good Hope firefighters also responded along with the county hazardous materials team, Cullman EMS and Cullman EMA due to the possible threat of the chemicals catching fire.
