Ibra H. Hobson, age 90 of Gardendale, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2008. Mr. Hobson was a longtime member of Gardendale’s First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the welcome Sunday school class. Mr. Hobson was the owner and operator of Birmingham Bumper Service. He was a loving husband, father, papa and grandpapa. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Hobson and mother, father, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rubye Hobson; daughter, Pat Stephens (Richard); grandchildren, Dee Loring Anderson; and three great-grandson, Joseph, Joshua and Jacob; sister, Lera Beatty; sister-in-law Violet Hobson and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with burial in Oakwood Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Leon Zalenski officiated.
