Fultondale man charged with murder in September slaying of Hwy. 280 Home Depot worker
A Fultondale man has been arrested and charged with the September murder of Xavier Beasley as he left work at Home Depot on Hwy. 280, the Hoover Police Department announced Saturday morning.
The suspect, Kareem Dacar Gaymon, 23, also worked at the Home Depot location at the time but left work before Beasley, according to police.
Gaymon was arrested Friday afternoon by U.S. Marshals and taken to the Hoover City Jail on a murder charge. He will be transported to Shelby County Jail and held on a $1 million bond.
Beasley was allegedly ambushed and shot multiple times in the Home Depot parking lot on Sept. 5.
Hoover Police said in a release that they had worked the case daily since then, and uncovered a lead Wednesday that pointed to Gaymon. They ask that anyone who has information on the case or Gaymon’s recent activities, contact Sgt. Keith Czeskleba at 205-739-6795.
“Most importantly, we ask that everyone continue to keep Mr. Beasley’s family and friends in their thoughts and prayers,” Hoover Police said in a news release. “We hope this arrest brings them a small measure of comfort and closure.”
The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama, Governor Robert Bentley’s office and The Home Depot Corporation assisted the police in the investigation.
