UPDATED: Two arrested in attempted murder incident Saturday in Warrior

The Warrior Police Department made two arrests early Saturday morning in an alleged attempted murder incident.

The department received a call at 3:51 a.m. on Saturday from Tommy Lowe, 34, of Warrior, who said he had been shot, according to the police report.

Upon arrival at the scene on Poplar Drive, officers saw that Lowe had what appeared to be a bullet wound in his back. His vehicle also had multiple bullet holes in it and the right-side windows were shot out.

An ambulance took Lowe to UAB Hospital.

While they were still at the scene, a 1997 Buick LeSabre drove up to a police barricade, sat there a few minutes and started to drive off, the report stated.

Officers questioned the driver of the car, Tysha Laneice Green, 34, who reportedly gave consent for officers to search the vehicle.

They found Ronnie Lee Austin, 33, of Warrior, in the trunk. Before being taken to the hospital, Lowe had reportedly told police that Austin had shot him.

Warrior officers arrested Austin on charges of attempted murder. They also arrested Green on charges of obstructing government operations for allegedly attempting to transport a suspect from a crime scene area.

Warrior Detective Corey Archer said Green was released from the Warrior Jail; her charge was a misdemeanor.

Austin was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he is being held on a $30,000 bond.

Lowe was no longer listed as a patient at UAB Hospital late Monday morning.

Note: Story updated at 2:34 Monday to include Ronnie Lee Austin’s bond information.
