Teen driver charged in death of Auburn announcer

A teen driver behind the wheel in the crash that killed Auburn announcer Rod Bramblett and his wife has been charged with manslaughter in the deaths, according to AL.com.

Auburn police reported the arrest of 16-year-old Johnston Edward Taylor. Authorities said the teen was speeding and tested positive for marijuana, Al.com’s reported noted.

The crash happened May 25 on Shug Jordan Parkway at the intersection of West Samford Avenue.

The Auburn Police Division received the Toxicological Analysis Report on July 1 from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences confirming the presence of marijuana in Taylor’s system.

Per Alabama Criminal Code 12-15-204; Taylor was charged as an adult and taken into custody at his home. He was transported to the Lee County Jail where he is being held on $50,000 bond.
