Scott Beason qualifies to run for congress
Sen. Scott Beason of Gardendale has just qualified to run for congress.
Beason earlier this week announced he would not run for re-election to represent the 17th district in Alabama.
He would not confirm or deny until today that he would put his hat into the ring for the congressional seat.
The deadline to file is today at 5 p.m.
