ZeroRPM, Rev Group announce alliance

ZeroRPM is entering into a business agreement with the continent’s largest producer of ambulances, which will reduce emissions and increase efficiency for the emergency vehicles.

REV Ambulance Group, in a joint release with ZeroRPM of Cullman, stated the alliance is to deliver the revolutionary ambulance of the future.

Ambulances are high idling vehicles because of how they operate. Data notes that ambulances can spend over half of an operating day idling, which means that every year, they burn thousands of gallons of fuel, emit tons oftoxins, and generate the equivalent of more than 30,000 miles of additional engine wear per ambulance. REV Ambulance Group can now deliver the right solution to help eliminate unnecessary idling to reduce pollution, fuel consumption, and associated health and environmental risks, according to a release from the company.

“We are pleased to offer this versatile idle mitigation system [ZeroRPM system] in our brands, including AEV, Horton, Leader, Marque, McCoy Miller, Road Rescue and Wheeled Coach,” said Bob Collins, president of REV’s Ambulance Group.

The ZeroRPM system provides dealers and customers with a hybrid ambulance at the worksite, allowing the vehicles to continue their operation when the engine is off, Collins said.

ZeroRPM created the IMS, idle mitigation system, which can power a vehicle and the air-conditioning for several hours via high-capacity batteries. With help from the state of Alabama and Wallace State in 2012, the company found a place to begin producing its product and showcasing its value to clients.

The company is also promotes the low impact on the environment from its creation, as well as its efficiency for vehicles that must stay constantly in service.

“Alabama is like little Detroit in the ‘70s and ‘80s in the automobile industry. A lot of people may not realize how well the state is doing in that industry, but it’s huge,” ZeroRPM CEO Lance Self has noted.
