Garden tip: Remember to pinch out the tops of mums twice in early summer. This enables the mums to bloom better.

• Decoration day will be observed on May 11 at the Warrior, Cane Creek and Stewart Chapel cemeteries. These are special days in the south.

• Mt. Zion Baptist will have their homecoming and decoration on Sunday. Always remember your loved ones.

• Happy birthday to Diana Crittenden on May 8. I hope you have a great birthday.

• The Life and Praise Assembly of God will have a spring fling on May 17. The rain date is May 31. They will have a yard sale and craft sale, too. The yard sale will start at 8 a.m. and they will have music, games and free food from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 647-4921.

• Pray for Burlie James, Betty Thompson, Oriene Jones, Emma Swindle, Essie Mae Lowe and Erskine James and all that are sick.

• We need to pray for the upcoming election and for our troops that are in harms’ way.
