Weather: Fog clears out. There will be patchy fog here and there this morning, but all of it should burn off by about 10 a.m. or so, giving way to sunny skies. Highs will be in the lower 70s with nighttime lows in the middle 40s. It will be a little cooler tomorrow, with highs in the lower 60s.

Pay hike for teachers? Yes, if Gov. Robert Bentley has his way. He has proposed a 2.5 percent cost-of-living hike for teachers for the 2013-14 school year, and similar raises for two years after that. Bentley made the proposal to state legislators on Saturday.

Beason to handle controversial bill. State Sen. Scott Beason, R-Gardendale, will be in charge of moving a bill through the Senate that would require doctors to be present during abortion procedures. The bill passed easily through the GOP-controlled House in February. Pro-choice groups oppose the bill, saying it would likely end abortions at the five clinics in the state which provide them.

Sports: Victory, agony for Cardinals. Louisville, the overall No. 1 seed in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, advanced to the Final Four with an 85-63 win over Duke — but not before players, coaches and fans witnessed a very gruesome injury to Cardinals guard Kevin Ware. He suffered a compound fracture when he was trying to guard a 3-point shot by the Blue Devils’ Tyler Thornton. UofL coach Rick Pitino said later that bone was protruding through Ware’s skin. The injury was so gruesome that CBS quickly cut away from the scene, and only showed replays from a distant angle. Ware was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for emergency surgery; it’s the same facility that treats serious injuries from wrecks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway… Meanwhile, the Final Four is set, with Louisville taking on ninth-seed Wichita State in one semifinal this Saturday, and Syracuse playing Michigan in a battle of four-seeds in the other… Women’s basketball: Shortly after their men’s counterparts won, Louisville’s women’s team pulled off one of the biggest upsets in NCAA history, as they defeated top-seed and defending champion Baylor 82-81. Monique Reid was fouled and hit both her free throws with 2.6 seconds left to win it… High school softball: Corner had a big weekend at the Wise memorial Tournament in Springville, defeating No. 1 (3A) Pisgah, No. 6 (5A) Moody, Etowah and the host team. They travel to Oak Grove for an area game Tuesday.
