Myrtle Mash Welden-Mitchell
Myrtle Mash Welden-Mitchell, born April 25, 1933 in Valley Creek, Tenn. to Wiley Mash and Minerva Swain Mash, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
She retired as the owner and agent of records from Gerelds-Weldon Insurance Agency in Woodlawn. Myrtle was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hayden, where she taught Sunday school and helped with ladies functions. She was also a member of the Republican Party, the Eastern Star and an early member of M.A.D.D.
Myrtle was preceded in death by two husbands, James Mason Weldon and Manning Mitchell; and two brothers, Gene and Glenn Mash.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Cookie) Weldon and Scott (Terri) Weldon; two daughters, Linda Weldon and Andrea (Larry) Green; eight grandchildren, Matt (Monica) Green, Luke (Staci) Green, Elizabeth Weldon, Alex Weldon, Nick Weldon, Katie Weldon, Ricky Weldon and Blake Valentine; eight great-grandchildren, James, Tori, Andrew, J.C.,Crimson, Selah, Emma, and Ethan; three sisters, Wanda Mash of Knoxville, Tenn., Wilma (Ron) Schiebel of San Antonio, Texas, and Patricia Smith of Waxahachie, Texas; her sister-in-law, Joyce Mash, and numerous cousins and extended family.
Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m., with funeral services on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 beginning at 11 a.m.
