Search is on for missing woman near Pinson who suffers from dementia
Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies are search Saturday for a woman who disappeared from her home the night before.
Lula Hazzard Skanes, 66, was reported missing Friday night by her daughter. Skanes was last seen at her home in the 1100 block of Oak Creek Trail near Pinson that afternoon. The daughter told deputies that Skanes suffers from dementia and has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Skanes is described as black, 5-foot-1 and 120 pounds. No clothing description was reported, but she is believed to be carrying a large gym bag.
