Obituary: Neddie R. Moore Sligh

Neddie R. Moore Sligh, 97, passed into eternal life on February 6, 2016 at her home in Gardendale, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mchulda Pennington, 6 brothers, 6 sisters, husbands Walter Moore and Eugene Sligh, and a daughter, Gail Moore Knight. She is survived by sons, Ed Moore (Virginia), Gene Moore, Allen Moore (Sangwan); her daughter, Ann Cloud (John); a sister, Louise Green, 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Neddie was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for a total of 60 years in the various churches she attended throughout her life. She lived a life of service to her Lord and to her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we are comforted by the knowledge that she is in the presence of our Lord and the loved ones who welcomed her into her new life in Heaven.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, Feb. 9 from 6 until 8 p.m. with chapel services on Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the team from Gentiva Hospice, especially Pam Rhodes, RN for their compassionate and caring service.
