Barney Jack Hill, 73, of Gardendale, passed away on Jan. 25, 2011.

He was survived by his wife of 51 years, Gail Marie Hill; son Wayne Hill (Susan), daughter Terri Key (Brian), daughter Dana Jones (Steve), son Donnie Hill (Lisa Jo); grandchildren, Lacey Barnwell, Laura Key, Brittany Bradford, Amanda Key, Nicholas Hill, Hayden Hill, Rachel Hill, Camryn Hill; brothers and sisters, Robert Hill, Nola Fines, Izola Baty, Milo Wesson, Frank Sharritt and a host of extended family.

Barney was a loving husband and father who enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time with his family, and also enjoyed putting many miles on a rocking chair. He was a member of Beechwood Baptist Church and refined from O’ Neal Street after 35 years of service.

Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2011 from noon – 2 p.m. Service will be at Gardendale Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Rev. Doug Moore will be officiating.
