Jonathan “Jon” Keeton, age 49 of Fultondale, passed away on Jan. 2, 2008. Jon was born in Hartford, Ct. and raised in Bethesda, Md. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in transportation. He was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. he was employed as an A.S.E. Master Tech for SAAB Tire and Automotive with 12 years of service. Jon was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and a member of Chapter Y, Liberty Wings, Gold Wing Road Riders Association and also a member of the Vulcan Corvair Enthusiast. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary T. Keeton. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sarah Keeton, daughter, Sonya Keeton; brothers, David (Judy) Keeton and Adam (Meranda) Keeton; father, J.E. Keeton, M.D.; grandchildren, Kevin, Sarah, Jordan, Jacob and Jayla. He is also survived by several extended family members and a host of friends. Services will be held Sunday, at 3 p.m. at Gardendale Funeral Home with Rector Roger Salter officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gardendale Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Camp Smile-A-Mile in his name.
