Golf tourney benefitting Brandon Cato to be held
The Gardendale Professional Firefighters Association wants to encourage local golfers to take part in a golf tournament benefitting injured Gardendale High School athlete Brandon Cato. The tournament will be held April 21 at Castle Pines Country Club, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. Entry fees are $75 per player or $300 per team. Those interested in playing can pick up registration forms at the Gardendale Fire Department. For more information, contact Nathan Aldrich at 965-1140.

Weeks to participate
in Alabama Author Expo
Gardendale resident, photographer and author J.D. Weeks will be participating in the Alabama Author Expo hosted by Books-A-Million today at Vulcan Park and Museum from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free. Twelve Alabama authors are scheduled to be there. The event includes sessions to meet Alabama authors and displays to purchase their books. Included also for the children will be story time, science projects and an appearance by V, the new Vulcan mascot.
