Exit 291 on I-65 reopened after 18-wheeler jack knifes, stalling southbound traffic
Southbound I-65 at Exit 291 has been reopened but traffic is backed up for miles after an 18-wheeler jackknifed, according to reports.
Alabama State Troopers said at least one person was injured following the crash between the exit and entrance ramps for southbound traffic.
The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office reports another wreck recently occurred near exit 299.
A motorist sent The Times a photo of the 18-wheeler wreck and reported traffic was at a standstill about a mile before exit 291 where traffic is being detoured back on to I-65 south.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area or take an alternate route.
