Victory Chr. (Columbus, MS) 49, Tabernacle Chr. 14
Victory Christian of Columbus, Miss., destroyed the Tabernacle Christian Torches Friday night 49-14 in Christian Football Association eight-man play.
Victory earned an early lead with two touchdowns in the first quarter. The first was a 46-yard run by Landon Ellis.
Ellis scored the second touchdown as well with a 4-yard fumble return.
Tabernacle (2-2) made their first touchdown of the night in the second quarter when Eddie Johnson made an 11-yard pass to Frederick Goodgame.
It didn’t take long for the Eagles to continue their streak with a 31-yard pass to Ellis by Marcus Sims.
The Eagles made two more touchdowns before the half, one by a 27-yard run by Tyler Jones and another by a 27-yard pass to Jones by Sims. The score was 22-6 at the half.
The Eagles didn’t let up in the second half. Sims began the third quarter with a 34-yard pass to Ellis. Their second touchdown in the third quarter was a short 5-yard sprint into the end zone from Ben Williams.
The Torches’ defense did manage to keep the Eagles at bay during the final quarter, preventing them from any further scoring.
Goodgame made Tabernacle’s only other touchdown of the night with a 16-yard run.
