E.V. Gray, age 81 of the Sardis Community, passed away on Nov. 7, 2007. Mr. Gray survived in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He served two years in the South Pacific aboard the LST 751. Retired from Sloss Industries with 38 years of service. He was an active member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Frances H. Gray; sons, Randal E. Gray (Pam) and Dennis Gray (Gail); daughter Teresa Sharit (Ricky); grandchildren, Vikki Ramey, Selena Goodwin, Craig Bullock, Brandon Gray, Tori Gray; four step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Gerald Gray and Freddie Gray; five step-great-grandchildren; sister, Eloise Nelson and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church on Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. with burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. John Curtain officiated.
