Disney’s Camp Rock auditions Saturday at Fairview High School
Auditions for the Cullman County Schools System’s first ever county-wide theatre production are set for Saturday at the Fairview High School Auditorium from 9 a.m. to noon.
A performance of Grease was the original plan for this semester, but the licensing process went longer than expected, so this spring’s performance will be Disney’s Camp Rock on April 26-29.
West Point Band Director Ty Parker and Fairview theater teacher Mark Dobbs are leading the production, in an effort to bring the theatre experience to all of Cullman County.
“Combining the talents and strengths from across the county will provide a competitive performance opportunity for our students,” Parker said. “This unity will hopefully spread across the county through academics, athletics, and other extra curricular activities.”
Fairview and West Point High Schools are the only high schools in the county system that offer theatre classes for students, so with this production, every student in the county will have a chance to audition and take part.
“Cullman County students are very intelligent and talented,” Parker said. “Together we can accomplish anything as a school system and compete state-wide in any category.”
