The Week 2 ASWA football poll has been released, and Gardendale (2-0) debuts at No. 8 in the Class 6A rankings after besting previous Class 7A No. 2 James Clemens last Friday.

In Class 5A, Mortimer Jordan (1-1) jumps one spot to No. 4 this week after cruising past Class 6A Pelham, 42-14.

Corner, behind a 2-0 start to the 2016 season, finds itself sitting on the doorstep of the Class 5A top-10. The Yellow Jackets have wins over Dora and South Lamar moving into Week 3, where Region 6 Fairview awaits.
