Good Thursday morning to you…

Weather: Damp. There’s a 20 percent chance of some scattered rain today, otherwise cloudy with highs near 50. The rain moves out tonight, with lows in the middle 30s. More rain comes on Friday, with some heavy showers Friday night; highs will be in the lower 50s and lows in the lower 40s.

Time to have it your way in Gardendale. It’s been quite a while since the city had its own Burger King (it was where Hamburger Heaven is now), but the fast-food chain returns today with a newly-built restaurant on Fieldstown Road next to Waffle House. The opening is set for 11 a.m. today.

Parade time in Warrior. The city’s annual Christmas Parade steps off tonight at 6 p.m. and will travel down Main Street. Afterward, several merchants will serve coffee and hot chocolate, and Santa Claus will be available for photos as well.

Sports: Hoops for the Holidays. The annual Corner Christmas Tournament tips off this afternoon, featuring a full bracket of eight boys’ teams that includes Mortimer Jordan, Fultondale, Locust Fork Springville and the host Yellow Jackets. Also tonight, Pinson Valley’s boys and girls travel to Walker.
