Legendary college baseball coach Ron Polk will be the featured speaker at a fundraising banquet for the Corner High baseball program next Tuesday.

Polk, best known for his stint at Mississippi State where he led the Bulldogs to six College World Series appearances, is now a volunteer assistant coach at UAB. He also led Georgia and Georgia Southern to the CWS. Polk is the winningest coach ever in the SEC.

The banquet begins at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Adamsville. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for ages 10 and under, payable at the door. Proceeds go to the Yellow Jackets’ equipment and facilities. Call 212-4215 or e-mail cornerhighbaseball@gmail.com for reservations.
