Suspect “tired of running,” implicates brother in theft

When Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were looking over a vehicle involved in a theft near Forestdale on Tuesday, a man gave himself up, saying he was tired of running, and implicated his brother.

Meanwhile, Fultondale Police had already picked up Randall Tyler Anderson and had him in custody.

Tyler Anderson was identified by his brother, Brian, when deputies arrived at the Chapel Creek Apartments in Fultondale. They were investigating a Cadillac CTS, which witnesses said had been used by two black males who were stealing a flat-screen television from a house in the 1500 block of Republic Drive.

Brian Anderson took deputies back to the house, where they talked with three men sitting out front. The television was returned; meanwhile, Fultondale Police told the sheriff’s office that they had Tyler Anderson, who was later handed over to deputies.

Tyler Anderson was charged with second-degree reception of stolen property, driving with a revoked license, attempting to elude and lack of vehicle insurance. He is held in the county jail in lieu of $22,500 bond.

Brian Anderson was released without being charged.
