Edgeworth won his fifth straight county title with a time of 15:36.61 while teammates Jayden Allred (third), Sage Nelson (seventh), Drew Dykes (10th) and Logan Perdue (14th) each provided counting times as well to help Cold Springs’ boys rack up their 20th consecutive county crown.

“I was wanting to go for the win but save my legs for state,” Edgeworth said. “We just focused on the team today. We knew that anything that has pressure always breaks, so we tried to say we didn’t have pressure. It was a good meet before state. We thank God we can run today and thank our coaches for putting us in this great shape. It’s a great county to run in and everybody supports it well.”

Holly Pond’s Travis Barnett was second behind Edgeworth. Rounding out the Top 10 were Fairview’s Alex England (fourth), West Point’s Rene Moreno-Tovar (fifth), Vinemont’s Brady Johnson (sixth), Holly Pond’s Matthew Putman (eighth) and Holly Pond’s Joshua Putman (ninth). The Top 10 earned All-County honors.

The Broncos finished second as a team — followed by West Point, Fairview, Vinemont and Good Hope.

Parris, meanwhile, won her second county meet with a time of 20:01.69.

Macie Huffstutler (second), Paizley Whitlow (fourth), Daisy Mavers (fifth) and Kynzlie Myrex (sixth) registered the other counting times for the Eagles, who captured their 18th consecutive county crown.

“It was definitely … the emotions hit me hard,” Parris said. “It’s sad to think this is my last county race, but I’m excited to go into sectionals and state. I’m also excited to be able to help our team win a county championship. I’m proud of our team, our school, our coaches and the people who support us.”

Holly Pond’s Mila Edmondson (third), Holly Pond’s Caroline Lamoureux (seventh), Cold Springs’ Leslie Jones (eighth), West Point’s Lilly Patterson (ninth) and Cold Springs’ Claire Huffstutler (10th) rounded out the Top 10 to also claim All-County accolades.

The Broncos finished second as a team — followed by West Point.

West Point’s Sawyer Harris (12:31.90) led the Warriors to the junior varsity boys title with an individual win.

Good Hope’s Katie Parrish, meanwhile, won the junior varsity girls race with a time of 14:42.87. Both the Raiders and Fairview finished with 29 points. However, the Aggies took the top spot via a tiebreaker.
