ARCHERY: Vinemont Elementary, Cullman Middle, West Point High win titles at King of the North Tournament

Vinemont Elementary, Cullman Middle and West Point High earned their respective titles at the King of the North Tournament in Guntersville on Saturday.
Vinemont Elementary collected 3,138 points at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) competition to beat out East Elementary (3,046) for the top spot. Welti Elementary (2,225) placed fifth.
Tucker Robinson (288), Jagger Lee (267), Cheston Wilhite (266), Savannah Pack (266), Kaien Earnest (263), Caroline Miller (263), Jayden Friedrich (260), Krimson Gingrich (255), Colbi Kilpatrick (255), Clairebeth Johnson (253), Emily Coats (252) and Addison Holcomb (250) provided the 12 counting scores for the Eagles.
Robinson was the top male shooter across all divisions.
Pack, meanwhile, had the highest score in the elementary female division.
Cullman (3,320) slipped past Vinemont (3,310) in the middle school competition.
Evan Dockery (286), Briana Willoughby (286), Will Bolzle (285), Carson Starnes (279), Brinley Hurt (277), Maddie Lindsey (275), Jack Yeager (275), Forrest Calvert (274), Cole Carden (273), Hayden Scott (273), Ayla White (273) and Arianna Scott (264) had strong performances for the Bearcats.
Dockery edged Bolzle for the best score in the male middle school division.
Vinemont’s Savannah Mann (287) was the top archer in the female middle school division. Willoughby finished second.
West Point (3,264) triumphed over Vinemont (3,209) and Cullman (3,181) in the high school competition.
Matthew Dunagan (287), Lauren Taylor (285), Skyler Rittenberry (283), Carter Duke (283), Shay Sellers (281), Cameron Haynes (275), Shyann Tidwell (266), Marshall Doherty (265), Josh Campbell (262), Zoe Mattox (259), Mackenzie Tidwell (259) and Ronnie Gentry (259) delivered solid efforts for the Warriors.
Dunagan tied Vinemont’s Cadan Welch for the top score in the high school male division.
However, he won the tiebreaker with more tens (21 to 18) than Welch.
Cullman’s Abby Gragg placed second in the high school female division. Taylor was third.
