ARCHERY: Vinemont Elementary, Cullman Middle, Cullman High earn titles at Cullman County Regional Tournament

Vinemont Elementary, Cullman Middle and Cullman High took home their respective titles at the Cullman County Regional Tournament, which wrapped up at Holly Pond High School on Monday.

Vinemont Elementary crafted 3,151 points at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) state qualifier to finish ahead of East Elementary (3,065) by 86 points.

Hanceville Elementary (2,653), Welti Elementary (2,555), West Point Elementary (2,491) and West Elementary (1,959) were third, fourth, fifth and seventh, respectively.

Tucker Robinson (278), Clairebeth Johnson (278), Jagger Lee (269), Caroline Miller (266), Jayden Friedrich (264), Dalton Bryan (261), Ethan Rabren (259), Halli Joiner (258), Cheston Wilhite (257), Emma Hathaway (256), Karson Adamson (254) and Savannah Pack (251) delivered the top 12 performances for the Eagles.

Robinson was the most accurate archer in the elementary male division.

Johnson, meanwhile, notched the top score in the elementary female division.

Cullman (3,354) squeaked past Vinemont (3,347) in an ultra-competitive middle school competition.

Fairview was third with 3,036 points followed by Holly Pond (3,033), West Point (3,003) and Hanceville (2,810).

Briana Willoughby (288), Evan Dockery (287), Ashlyn Danecker (286), Will Bolzle (286), Brinley Hurt (284), Arianna Scott (282), Emily Leigeber (278), Carson Starnes (275), Maddie Lindsey (274), Julian Skinner (273), Jack Yeager (271) and Ava Ray (270) recorded the counting scores for the Bearcats.

Vinemont’s Dawson Wilhite (290) corralled the highest score across all male divisions.

Willoughby, meanwhile, edged Vinemont’s Alexis Sartin (287) and Savannah Mann (287) as the top archer in the middle school female division. 

Willoughby’s score was also the second highest across all female divisions.

Cullman won the high school competition with a total of 3,295.

West Point (3,291) placed second by just four points followed by Vinemont (3,226) and Holly Pond (2,974).

Kilie Cosper (289), Samantha Johnson (285), Drake Speakman (283), Abby Gragg (283), Claude Thomas (280), Jackson Llewellyn (273), Jamie Jowers (272), Emily Bell (269), Jackson Miner (269), Sarah Kate Dockery (269), Joseph Ruse (263) and Britney Collier (260) notched the best scores for the Bearcats.

Cosper accumulated the most points across all female divisions.

Vinemont’s Cadan Welch (288) was the top individual in the high school male division and second overall.

The Cullman County Archery Championships will take place Tuesday and Wednesday at Fairview High School.

The NASP State 3D/IBO Tournament, meanwhile, is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday at the Civic Center.
