ARCHERY: East Elementary, Cullman Middle, West Point High earn respective titles at Future Champions Kickoff Classic

East Elementary, Cullman Middle and West Point High won their respective titles at the Future Champions Kickoff Classic, which took place at the Cullman Basketball Complex over the weekend.
East Elementary tied Vinemont (3,006 points) at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) competition but recorded more tens (79 to 77) to claim the tiebreaker.
Hanceville (2,461) and Welti (1,598) came in fourth and sixth, respectively.
Aubrey Corry (264), Flores Reid (263), Easton Walker (263), Karli Jo Ballenger (254), Dylan Tisdale (249), Carson Defoe (248), Brooklyn Walker (247), Cameron Yeager (247), Joshua Au (244), Carson Stancil (244), Braxton Brooks (242) and Keyonna Puckett (241) provided the counting scores for East Elementary.
Vinemont’s Clairebeth Johnson was the top elementary female with a score of 266. Tucker Robinson had 272 points to finish third in the male elementary division – the top local showing – for the Eagles.
Cullman, meanwhile, conquered the middle school event with 3,274 points.
Fairview (2,871) and Hanceville (2,802) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Brinley Hurt (284), Evan Dockery (279), Julian Skinner (276), Carson Starnes (276), Ava Ray (276), Hayden Scott (276), Emily Leigeber (270), Maddie Lindsey (269), Jack Yeager (269), Ayla White (268), Cole Carden (268) and Ashlyn Danecker (263) delivered the top 12 outings for the Bearcats.
Hurt (female) and Dockery (male) were also the best shooters in their respective divisions.
West Point’s Madilyn Branum (276) came in second in the female middle school division as well.
West Point edged Cullman 3,266 to 3,233 in the high school competition.
Ronnie Gentry (286), Matthew Dunagan (284), Carter Duke (278), Lily Owen (278), Lauren Taylor (277), Skyler Rittenberry (277), Emma Tucker-Hillman (276), Cameron Haynes (275), Marshal Doherty (272), Mackenzie Tidwell (261), Zoe Maddox (255) and Ava Moody (247) all notched points for the Warriors.
Cullman’s Kilie Cosper was the top high school female with a score of 290. Austin Russell finished second in the high school male division with 285 points for the Bearcats.
