Nearly 100 people gathered Monday night for a vigil remembering three missing people at the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.
Sponsored by Community United Effort, the event focused on Tabitha Franklin, Jordan Lee Wilson and George Erik James, all were reported missing in recent years and remain so after exhaustive searches by deputies and family members.
The event was hosted by Sheriff Matt Gentry and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office at the department’s training center.
Wilson’s son, Dylan, 16, spoke briefly and talked about the difficulties his family has faced with his mother.
“I miss her everyday. It’s hard when you see the hurt in your family,” Dylan said. It’s just hard. I want to thank all of those who have searched and all the support friends have given to my family.”
Wilson has been missing for more than a year. Franklin was last seen in 2009. James has not been seen in six years.
Gentry and his staff was praised by family members for working to find the missing and staying in touch with families.
Community United Effort works to keep the memories and cases of the missing active and to support families.
