Cullman Police have identified the man who was struck and killed by a train Sunday night in Cullman.

The deceased has been identified as Brian Reid, 31, a native of Massachusetts. Police say Reid was apparently hopping trains and riding south when he was accidentally hit and killed.

“That just seems to be the life he lived, traveling from one place to the next,” Cullman Police Lt. Becky Boyd said.

Boyd said investigators have no reason to believe foul play was involved.

The man was reportedly struck just after midnight on Sunday night, and railroad company CSX discovered the body and contacted authorities.

Reid was reportedly killed on the tracks near Arnold Street by Depot Park.

Police have spent the past few days working with authorities in the New England area in an effort to determine Reid’s identity.
