As Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Adam Clark continues to recover from a Tuesday accident, the community is finding ways to offer support.

Chris and Brittany Grimmett are selling car decals to support Clark and his K-9 partner Figo who was also injured. According to Brittany Grimmett’s Facebook page, the “We have your 6 Adam & Figo” decals are 4×4 and cost $5 each with all the money going to Clark’s family.

The “Adam Clark expenses” Facebook fundraiser, created by Daniel Cummings, had raised more than $5000 by Thursday evening.

Chick-Fil-A in Cullman announced via Facebook that proceeds from its Friday sales will also go directly to Clark’s family.

Those unable to offer financial support can joins others at a prayer at a vigil hosted by Pure Faith Ministries on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Depot Park in Cullman.

Clark remains hospitalized and continues to recover following a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday that injured and stranded both him and his K-9 partner in a ravine off Alabama Highway 69.

At a press conference Wednesday, sheriff Matt Gentry said Clark remained in critical condition at Huntsville Hospital, but had begun to show signs of improvement. Figo is being treated at a K-9 veterinary facility at Auburn University, where the dog is undergoing CT and MRI scanning to assess the extent of his injury.

Gentry did not offer details on the extent of Clark’s injuries, but said Clark’s family is grateful to the community for its outpouring of support in the wake of Tuesday’s accident.

Clark and Figo were traveling eastbound in a Chevrolet Tahoe patrol cruiser when heavy rain and hazardous road conditions, said Gentry, caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and plunge into a steep ravine between Bremen and Dodge City.

Clark has been with the sheriff’s office for five years, and has been paired with Figo as a two-officer K-9 unit for the past year. Gentry said that Clark and Figo make an effective team, with Clark even having finished in second place last year at a national K-9 competition held in Georgia.
