Cullman County Sheriff’s Office donates rodeo proceeds to local special needs students

Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry and the sheriff’s rodeo committee donated $15,500 in proceeds from last year’s event to local schools. 

Cullman County Superintendent Shane Barnette and Cullman City Schools Superintendent Susan Patterson accepted the donation, and the money will be divided between the thirty one schools in Cullman County who have special needs children.

“As I have said many times the special needs rodeo is one of the highlights of the year for us at the sheriff’s office,” Gentry said in a press release. “It’s a great opportunity for the staff to be with the children and see the smiles and joy it brings”, said Sheriff Matt Gentry.

The special needs rodeo precedes the 2017 Cullman County Sheriff’s Rodeo December 8- 9 at 7:30p.m.
