Cullman County has had one reported death from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus. The death has yet to be confirmed by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH).

The person was not a patient at Cullman Regional, said spokesperson Lindsey Dossey. Cullman Regional is currently caring for two patients who’ve been diagnosed with the disease.

According to the ADPH, “When a death occurs in a person who tested positive for COVID-19, the record is reviewed by an ADPH physician to determine factors related to deaths and whether the death is attributable to COVID-19. This investigation must be completed before any death is included in our official data. If the death is determined to be COVID-19-related, our dashboard will show this.”

On Friday evening, the ADPH dashboard shows Cullman with 15 confirmed cases. Cases are tracked according to the home county of the individual.
