Steve Glasscock, chairman and chief executive officer of Merchants Bank, announced that Ellen Burns joined the bank in April and will serve as vice President, loans, in the Cullman Main Office.

In her new position, Ms. Burns will work in both, consumer and commercial lending, as well as deposit services.

Burns is a 38-years banking veteran of Regions Bank, where she worked in consumer and small business banking.

She is a graduate of Vinemont High School. She has also been affiliated with several professional organizations during her career.

She is a member of Saint John’s Evangelical Protestant Church. She is married to Richard Burns and they have one daughter, Blakeley Burns.
