Retired Master Sergeant Donald Ray “Dave” Davidson of Hawkinsville, Ga., formerly a native of Fultondale, passed away on Oct. 21, 2007 at the age of 54. He served in Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, Georgia and Okinawa during his Air Force Career that spanned over 25 years. While in the Air Force Dave earned the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longview Service Award. Services were officiated by Paul Sims and Rose Mary Farley. He was preceded in death by: parents, George B. and Lois Davidson; and a sister, Patricia A. Smith. He is survived by: his son, Wesley; wife, Shell Davidson of Raimstein, Germany; daughter, Christie and her husband Joey Martin of Indiana; grandchildren, Rylan and Alex Davidson, Chance, Trevor, Tori and Dylan Martin; sisters, Lois Allen of Pinson and Ruby Hayes of Morris; brothers, George E. Davidson of Fultondale, Charles B. Davidson of Warrior; Ricky Davidson and John Davidson, both of Hanceville; and a host of nieces, nephews and uncles. Services were held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel.
