Wallace State Community College has received a $50,000 Gene Haas Foundation Grant which will be used to fund scholarships for Machine Tool Technology students.
“Wallace State Machine Tool Technology appreciates the continued support from the Gene Haas Foundation,” Program Director Justin Burnett said. “These funds will help support scholarships for current and incoming students in our Machine Tool Technology and CNC programs here at Wallace State.”
The Gene Haas Foundation was established in 1999, by Gene Haas, founder and owner of Haas Automation, Inc., to support the needs of the local community, through grants to such local charities as the Boys and Girls Clubs, Food Share, Rescue Mission and others.
Seeing a growing need for skilled manufacturing employees industry wide, the Foundation expanded its mission to include support for manufacturing training programs throughout North America and beyond.
In 2022, the Gene Haas Foundation provided more than $27 million in grants, bringing the total since inception to more than $175 million.
