Homecoming week — what a fun time in our community. Our youngest son enjoyed seeing the toilet paper hanging from the trees so much that he wanted us to put it in our trees. Apparently “somebody” couldn’t bear to let him down. We enjoyed it and are blessed to be loved by so many.

• Happy birthday to Estelle Reid who will be 90 years old on Oct. 13.

• The Fultondale Elementary PTA would like to let you know every first Thursday of the month at the Fultondale Zaxby’s is Fultondale PTA night from 4 to 9 p.m. The PTA gets 15 percent of the sales donated to them during these hours. Thursdays are 99-cent kids meal night. What a good opportunity to have a dinner out with the family and support our PTA at the same time.

• The Fultondale Education Committee (FEC) meets the first Wednesday of each month at the high school in the media center at 5:30 p.m.

• Because we love our community, the members of Fultondale First Baptist Church are having a special event called “Que for You” on Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. until the food is gone. Please come by, say hello and pick up your bag of free barbeque sandwiches and chips. We will be waiting to serve you in two convenient locations: the Winn Dixie parking lot on U.S. 31 and the old House of Grace on Walker’s Chapel Road, west of I-65 in Fultondale. See you soon.

• Please remember the community lunch at the end of the month. For more information on the lunch or the CareNet Connection, please contact Jim Branum at 587-8838.

• World Card Day and Princess Girlz went wonderfully. I would like to thank Sharla Foy and Stampin’ Up for their time and awesome service to our girls.

• If you have anything you would like add to our community news just let me know.
