Fultondale removes dangerous house

The Fultondale City Council passed a resolution at their regular meeting on Monday to remove a condemned house, located at 1909 Hyche Street. The council said the house had been determined to be unsafe and a health hazard due to inadequate maintenance and abandonment by the owners.

In other business, the council:

• passed a resolution to extend an agreement with the Alabama Department of Transportation for the Rails for Trails project. The agreement is extended to Jan. 17, 2013.

• passed a resolution to challenge a permit which regulated storm water discharges in the city. The council authorized the mayor to retain professional services if necessary.
