Rabon Louis Cleghorn
Rabon Louis Cleghorn, 72, of Cullman entered into rest on August 17, 2011 in Birmingham.
Mr. Cleghorn was born on April 17, 1939 in Arley. He served in the United States Army for two years. He was a 1957 graduate of Meek High School. Mr. Cleghorn worked for most of his life in the timber industry. His greatest enjoyment was talking to or about his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11a.m. at Addison Church of God, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Bishop Rodney Ridgeway will officiate.
Mr. Cleghorn is survived by his son, Derek (Carol) Cleghorn of Cullman; daughter, Joette (Keith) Jones of Cullman; two brothers, Alton (Bonnie) Cleghorn of Arley and Larry (Becky) Cleghorn of Hartselle. He was “Pop” to seven grandchildren, Amy (Vance) Kanaday, Lance Jones, Tahauny Cleghorn, Alex Jones, Paul Duke Cleghorn, McCoy Rose Cleghorn and Rayce Cleghorn and two great-grandchildren, Izzy Kanaday and Brian Kanaday. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Nola Cleghorn and Tommie Cleghorn; and Jane Knight, mother of his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Ruby Cleghorn; and brothers, Max Cleghorn, Demp Cleghorn, Jimmy Cleghorn and Ricky Cleghorn.
