The City of Warrior will have a Christmas parade this year for the first time in years, and they’re already planning for it.

The Warrior City Council named city police officer Ricky Sharit and his wife, Teresa, as co-chairs for the parade project at its regular meeting on Monday.

In other business, the council:

• rescheduled the next city council meeting to Sept. 6, so as not to conflict with Labor Day.

• voted to improve the Warrior-Evelyn Thorton Public Library and the community center by placing new rugs in them.
