The Fultondale Wildcats moved up one spot this week in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football poll.
The Wildcats (5-0) moved up one place in the Class 2A poll after entering the Top 10 last week at No. 10.
The Wildcats can qualify for the state playoffs this weekend with a win over Vincent. Should the Wildcats win Friday, they would reach the state playoffs for the first time since 2002.
Fultondale’s opponent this week, Vincent, was among those clubs who also received votes, but didn’t garner enough support to reach the Top 10.
In Class 5A, Gardendale was among those teams also receiving votes. To view the entire poll for all six classifications, visit the Alabama High School Athletic Association web site at www.ahsaasports.com.
