The Kimberly City Council once again tabled action on liquidating maintenance bonds on the Liberty Crossings development, after Clint Singletary had requested time to speak in Monday night’s regular meeting about the project, but then failed to appear.
“Under people who called to address the council, Mr. Singletary called again but is not here tonight, which I guess is no surprise,” Mayor Craig Harris said as he moved on to other council business.
It’s the third time in as many meetings that Singletary has asked to appear and then failed to show up, according to official council agendas.
Each time, the council tabled action on liquidating two bonds, waiting for Singletary to state his case.
The Liberty Crossings development is located off of Self Creek Road in the eastern part of the city, next to Liberty Baptist Church.
In other business, the council:
• Hired five additional members for its new professional fire department. Three of the new hires are full time, while two others split the fourth additional position. They join two members that are already on the department staff
• Sought revised bids for a septic system for a municipal building, and approved a bid for a new roof for the city garage
The next Kimberly City Council meeting is Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
