The first-ever meeting of the Kimberly City Council wasn’t markedly different from the dozens of meetings the same body had held before being upgraded from town status.
In Tuesday’s meeting, the council voted to take applications for a city judge, prosecutor and public defender.
In other action, the council:
• Annexed property at 8935 Warrior Kimberly Road;
• Authorized a bond for a seal coat on roads in phases II and III of the Doss Ferry Subdivision;
• Approved a new street light on Hagood Road, near a dangerous curve;
• Tabled a resolution on a new policy for use of city-owned vehicles.
