Evangel Christian-Alabaster went on a big run in the third quarter, scoring 26 points to pad a one-point halftime lead as they defeated Tabernacle Christian 66-56 in boys basketball action Thursday night.

Caleb Thompson led the Torches with 20 points, and John White added 19.

Jud Sims handed out eight assists and grabbed five rebounds; Shiver Winchester also pulled down five rebounds for Tabernacle (6-6).

Grayson Melick scored 26 points and Justin Motes had 14 for the Lightning.
