Pearl Grund
Funeral services for Pearl Grund, 93, of Hanceville will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor John Jankens officiating, with burial in Fairview West Cemetery.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Grund died Tuesday, April 18 in Hanceville. She was born in Cullman County on Oct. 20, 1912, to William Henry and Martha Hundley Mayfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Grund; a daughter, Dorothy Grund; four sons, Charles, Clent, James “Bud” and Milton Grund; and her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret (Eugene) Hamilton of Garden City, Lillian Artist of Hanceville; a son, Albert (Faye) Grund of Hanceville; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Katrina Marie Hudson Puckett
Funeral services for Katrina Marie Hudson Puckett, 28, of Vinemont, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Sacred Heart Church, Fr. Kevin McGrath, Fr. Joel and Fr. John officiating, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Puckett died Sunday, April 16 at her residence. She was born June 29, 1977 in Memphis, Tenn., to Tommy Wayne and Gladys Marie Graveman Hudson. She was a hairdresser.
Survivors include her parents; her son, Hudson Ray Puckett, and her daughter, Mary Elaine Puckett, all of Vinemont.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sacred Heart Church in memory of Katrina Puckett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Thellene Mae Beason
Funeral services for Thellene Mae Beason, 81, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Welti, Randy Sellers officiating, with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Mrs. Beason will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Beason died Tuesday, April 18 at Woodland Medical Center.
Rev. Jack Calvin Whitfield Sr.
A memorial service for the Rev. Jack Calvin Whitfield Sr., 67, of Cullman will be at noon Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Frank Wood officiating.
Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Whitfield died Monday, April 17 at his residence. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on Jan. 15, 1939. He was an LPN and a construction worker. The family traveled and sang gospel music for several years. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lambert Calvin Whitfield; a son, James Wayne Whitfield; a sister, Doris Jean Lods; a brother, Richard Wayne Whitfield; and his grandparents, Calvin and Nancy Harriet Caudell Whitfield and Sherman and Bobbie Belle Hurd Sumner.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Bruey Whitfield of Cullman; his mother, Flora Mabel Sumner Whitfield of Cullman; three sons, Jack Calvin (Sharon) Whitfield II, Jan Allen (Paula) Whitfield, both of Cullman, Jay Dale (Linda) Whitfield of Custer, Ky.; two daughters, Johnna Belinda (Johnny) Quick and Jodi Marie (Rev. Greg) Lee, both of Cullman; 18 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wiregrass Hospice in Cullman.
Edgar L. Rice
Funeral services for Edgar L. Rice, 70, of Double Springs, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church, with burial in Williams Cemetery.

Mr. Rice passed away Sunday, April 16 in Birmingham after a long illness. He was retired from Merita Breads after 38 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in both the Alabama National Guard and the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mige and Verla Rice; and his daughter-in-law, Terena Rice.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Vest Rice; his son, Eddy Rice; two daughters, Melanie (Ron) Garrett and Jeannie (Jeff) Williams; three brothers, Lewis, Douglas and Thomas Rice; his sister, Delene Whitman; six grandchildren, Rick Patton, Brandie Woodard Terrell, Adam (Sonya) Knight, Kris McGregor, Shelé Rice, Johnathan Woodard; and three great-grandchildren, Tayegen Knight, Amira Kinat-Patton and Savanna Terrell.
