A one-vehicle crash in the southbound lane of Interstate 65 sent two people to the hospital and backed up traffic during the morning rush.

A Warrior Police Department spokesman said that the crash happened just north of the Cane Creek Road interchange. The cause is still under investigation.

Police said one passenger was transported to UAB Hospital by Lifesaver helicopter, and another was taken to Children’s of Alabama.

Their identities and conditions have not been released.
